Soleus CFM 40 PROS:
Removes moisture from the air very quickly
Has a setting for quiet operation which works well
Looks good enough to put in your living room
Only uses 306 watts so it runs cooler than larger models and also saves you on the electric bill
Lighter than most other 40 pint units
Turns off when bucket is full and runs quiet even when not in the quiet mode
Doesn't ice up
Soleus CFM 40 CONS:
Castor's are small making it difficult to move by rolling
The bucket for catching the water is too small and needs emptying often
The bucket could use handles to help with picking it up and moving it to empty
Bucket needs a cover so water doesn't splash when moving the unit or when you are emptying the bucket
After the warranty expires Soleus doesn't want to help you if your unit quits or needs work
No threads for connecting a hose to the water output
Unit lasts a little over a year on average, probably made as a disposable unit
Unit seems to run 24/7 no matter the setting
Summary:
This dehumidifier is really quiet, even when not in the quiet mode. Unit is lightweight and uses less electricity than other 40 pint units which will reduce your electric bill. Still, it removes the moisture quickly. The water bucket could use a cover as it spills and splashes when you move the unit or go to empty the bucket. The biggest drawback seems to be that it only lasts a little over a year, and the warranty lasts a year. Almost seems like Soleus made this to quit and be used as a disposable unit.
