This machine does a great job of sealing. However, if you want to seal something that is soft and you don't want it squished, you should use the Rival VSA3 Seal-a-Meal Accessory Canisters that are designed for this purpose. Another plus is that you can make your own size bags with the rival 8" or 11" rolls or you can use the pre-sized rolls. Whichever you use, they are much much cheaper than buying ziplock or other freezer bags. Plus, they will keep the food for one to three years versus a couple of months for the other freezer bags.

You use the plastic bags or rolls and remove the oxygen and then seal tightly to seal in fresh flavors and vitamins. Comes with 50 feet of high density bags and a cutter and integrated bag/roll holder. You have the option of wall mounting this unit. Has a drip tray that is dishwasher safe. Unit weighs 11 pounds and measures 18.6 inches x 6 inches x 10.5 inches.

Summary
This is an excellent food saver vacuum sealer that works extremely well. Also you get several rolls of bags to get you started. The instructions could be better, and the print is also on the small side and difficult to read. But once you get the directions figured out you won't need them again anyway.
